Famous British illustrator Ernest Howard Shepard based Winnie-the-Pooh on on his son's Steiff bear "Growler." In 1966, Walt Disney made a 20-minute musical cartoon called "Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree" making Winnie-the-Pooh one of the world's most famous teddy bears.
